"Captain Kidd's Gold by
Natalie Evans"
We loved this book! On his death bed, in humble circumstances,
the father relates to the son of how the father came to the knowledge of
Captain Kidd's treasure years ago and held as a secret awaiting the
opportunity to discover it for the betterment of his small family.
Circumstances never permitted the father to recover this gold but now he
passes on this most unusual inheritance to his son. Trusting his
father's wisdom the son keeps the secret until he becomes familiar with
the maritime trade and finds a Captain and backer he can trust. We've
told Ms. Evans we'd like to see what else happens to this likeable and
honorable young man.
Truthfully the first couple of chapters setting up the story are a bit long, but
be patient--it's worth it in the end. The author is a Middle Tennessee
homeschooler. |
